With a thousand trees, ship-like Paris residential block has been covered

Being done as residential development for a city block in Paris, Sou Fujimoto Architects and Manal Rachdi OXO Architects started to create a plan for ship-like glass and the scheme imagines a large glass structure topped with a thousand trees controlling the Pershing area of the French capital. The building is inferred to span the city’s Boulevard Périphérique and house flats and social housing, added with a community center, kindergarten and play areas. Lastly, a whole forest reposes on a system of triangular concrete slabs. In other words, it is regarded as an inhabited natural ecosystem and the structure is aimed to present biodiversity to a highly urbanized neighborhood of Paris.
